a good massage consists of more than perfect pressure and fine technique: i learned massage as an art of applied mettha-meditation (mettha=compassion). sounds suspiciously spiritual I know but it makes the difference! with an open heart and full attention in the moment i do everything so that you can let go and feel totally relaxed.

traditional thai-yoga massage i got to know in australia and I was amazed. i did a the massage-training, made the certificate and started straight away to give treatments in hamburg, on yoga-retreats and in surfcamps. it´s the most fulfilling work I´ve ever done. besides doing further trainings on a regular basis I found the best way to improve my treatments to exchange and network with other therapists.

how I hooked up with yoga? the indonesian island bali is for me inspiring because of the beautiful surf and the outstanding massage-therapists and healers! my first contact with yoga was also on bali when a japanese surfguide showed me his secret for being clear-minded and even-tempered no matter how busy the outside world is: meditation, breathing techniques and some yoga-postures every day. from the beginning on, without lotus-seat that is;), i enjoyed the “sitting business” a lot: pranayama (control of breath/life force) and meditation. later I got very lucky and met one of the few very experienced pranayama-teachers in the west, emil wendel.

the yoga teacher training in india dealt a lot with developing an individual yoga sequence according to ayurvedic principles. the knowledge about the three ayurvedic constitutions pita-, vata-, and kapha-dosha helps me a lot to lead group classes in an inspiring way and I can also finetune my massage-treatments better according to the clients needs.
